Turning Tools
Carter & Sons tools are machined from solidM42 High Speed Steel,
an extremely durable, sharp grade of High Speed Steel. It is also
much stronger because of its 10% cobalt content. This cobalt
content allows us to heat-treat our tools to 68 HRC, providing
you with razor-sharp, unbelievably strong tools. Your turning
will be smoother and cleaner, you'll even use less sandpaper!
Each and every tool design is safe, easy to use and strong.
All of the gouges sport two flats that are machined onto all
our tools. These flats provide the set screws, which secure
the tool into the handle a solid place to rest. Carter and
Son tools rest 3" into the handle, rather than the conven-
tional 2". Each tool easily slips in and out of its handle once
the two set screws are removed, allowing for quick inter-
changeability between different tools.

The Savannah Large Carbide Turning Tools are designed with ease of use in mind. They are ideal for wood turn-
ers of all skill level and help ensure success right from the start. All you have to do is rotate the cutter head for a
clean, sharp edge and continue turning. The solid carbide stays sharper for a longer period of time in compari-
son to steel tools. Once the cutter head is completely used, simply replace it with a new carbide cutter (new cut-
ters are sold separately). To make turning even more enjoyable, the shaft of the Savannah Carbide Turning Tools
also features a flat back for stability while your turning. The solid wood ash handle is coated with a comfortable
rubber grip on the base that transitions to the wooden top part of the handle seamlessly.
Eliminate the inconvenience of sharpening
your turning tools. Just rotate the tip when it
becomes dull for a fresh, clean cutting edge.
The tips are replaceable when needed (extra
tips sold separately). The handles each have
molded grips that provide better grip and less
fatigue. The tools over all Lengths are Approx.
13-1/8" and the handle length is Approx. 9-1/8".
The tool shaft is approx. 4". The set Includes: 1

This Set is designed for turning pens or any oth-
er small turning project. The round carbide and
2" radius Carbide cutters are able to be rotated
when they become dull to give you a quick
sharp edge for turning with out having to stop
and sharpen your edge. The set includes 3 es-
sential tools, 2" radius carbide, and the carbide
parting tool. The overall tool length is approxi-
mately 9½" and the tool shaft is approximately
3" in length. Each handle is approximately 6½"
and designed with a comfort grip.
