With this complete kit, you'll be able to make your very own custom designed salt
shaker and pepper mill. Ron Brown's Salt and Pepper Mill Starter kit has all the
hardware and accessories for you to make a unique matching salt and pepper mill
set. The kit includes: 1 each 8”pepper mill hardware kit, 1 each 10 each peppermill
hardware kit, 2 salt shaker hardware kits, 2 carbide forstner bits (15⁄8” & 11⁄16”) which
are used for boring the holes in the salt shaker and peppermill, 1 each forstner bit
extension, 1 each MT-2 tapered drill chuck and 2 jamb chucks to make turning be-
tween centers much easier.
If you have ever made a salt or pepper mill or are thinking of making one, than these
two chucks are indeed a necessity. Each chuck is specially milled to the exact size of
the holes at the top and bottom of the drilled mill blank. Without these chucks it is
virtually impossible to turn between centers. The large chuck which measures ap-
proximately 1-5/8" in diameter fits snuggly into the larger hole and fits neatly onto
your lathe spur drive. The small jamb chuck which measures approximately 1-1/6"
id diameter fits directly into the smaller hole and has a pre drilled hole on the other
end for your center on your lathe. Each chuck is made from durable phenolic for
years of use. Includes one each of the 1-5/8" and 1-1/16" jamb chucks.

Morse taper drill chuck works directly on your lathe. Once inserted into your lathe
tailstock, it will allow you to use your lathe like a horizontal drill press. The chuck
will hold forstner bits, twist bits and more with shanks up to 1/2”. This gives you the
ability to bore out many different types of turning projects like vases, peppermills,
boxes and more! The Tapered lathe drill chucks are available in Morse Taper 1 and
Morse Taper 2 sizes.
