Sovereign is a handle system for woodturners which is perfect for any turner who
appreciates quality and interchangeability . Like all other Robert Sorby products
it is made in Sheffield to the most exacting engineering standards. The Sovereign
handles and collet system are ideal for quick change from one tool to another. This
gives you the ability to change your tools“on the fly”to keep your project efficiency
at it’s peak. The Sovereign System also gives you the ability to add multiple acces-
sories to fit any turners needs.
Made by Robert Sorby these un-handled turning tools are perfect for any
woodturner. The un-handled tools will work with most handles and are compat-
ible with the Robert Sorby Sovereign System. Tools vary in length.

Accessories for the Sovereign System
The Sovereign handles also
work with the TurnMaster
un-handled shanks.
The handles are made of aluminum and
alloy in combination to give the best of
strength, balance and vibration dampen-
ing qualities. Each handle comes with a
durable Softex grip. The handles will take
turning tools with a 5/8” diameter shaft.
Also included are 3/8”and½”collets to ac-
cept tools with those diameters, allowing
the turner to use his Sovereign for awhole
host of different chisels. This includes the
Sorby TurnMaster unhandled shanks for
even greater interchangeability.
The collets allow you to use different
size un-handled tools with the Sov-
ereign System. Simply loosen the set
screws on the Sovereign handle and
insert the desired size collets. Since the
Sovereign handles already come with a
3/8” and 1/2” collet we also offer a pilot
bored 1/4” collet for custom size turn-
ing tools. Also available is a collet for
turning tools with tangs which accepts
tools with flat shanks.
Sovereign Side Handle
Sometimes you need just a little
more leverage when turning larger
pieces. The Side Handle attaches
to the side of both the 16” and 22”
handles to give you extra support.
Sovereign Threaded Coupler
If you’re turning large vessels you
may want to extend the length of
your Sovereign tool. The Threaded
Coupler allows you to connect two
Sovereign handles together.
Sovereign Counter Weight
Some turners like a bit of extra
weight for control and to achieve
this, there is a counterweight to fit
inside the base of the handle.
