8 Piece Turner's Live Center Sets

If you have never used live centers before or have a factory version that just isn't quite cutting it, then this 8 Piece Live Center Set is for you! Having the correct live center for turning makes all the difference. This high quality double bearing constructed set is designed to keep your stock from vibrating during the lathe turning process, this in turn helps produce clean surface turning for a great finished product. Whether you are turning a spindle leg, a unique pen or even an easter egg, this set will do the trick. In this set is a Morse Tapered Center Holder that has a rare earth magnet embedded directly into it to hold the interchangeable centers firmly in place. Turn Between Centers Mandrel System

Turn more accurate, consistent and concentric pen barrels with this one of a kind mandrel system. The Turn Between Centers mandrel rides on 2 centers rather than a typical rod Ð so more dead on turning. There is no mandrel shaft to bend so your turned barrel will eliminate an out of round blank, producing a blank that mates precisely with your pen parts. The system includes an MT headstock insert and live MT tailstock insert - each with 7mm pins (similar to a 7mm mandrel shaft). Mount your bushings onto the pins, mount your pen blank, then bring the tailstock forward to secure your blank between centers. Ideal for single tube pen styles.

This type of action is great for turning because it keeps your wood from burning, yet it holds your stock in place. The live center allows for greater clamping pressures and much better control while still retaining their incredibly smooth rotation.

60° Live Centers

These 60° Live Centers are 1-9/32" overall diameter with a 60° point and strong precision bearings. The Live Centers run very true and are also well balanced for smooth effective turning. Ideal to support your work at the tailstock end of your lathe.

Easy Live Center

A precision 40 degree angular contact ball bearing, sealed & lubricated for life, carries both the thrust load and rear radial load.Combined with a precision radial bearing in the nose, this two bearing setup will deliver long lasting service and accuracy. The tip of the center extends and reverses to accommodate your turning. The flat end is useful when reverse chucking using a vacuum chuck or jam chuck. The center will support the work without marking the bottom of the piece. The cup center is threaded 3/4‐10 for standard accessories. A 5/16” thru hole accommodates drilling. #2 Morse Taper shank is tapped 3/8-16 for draw bar applications. The center body and shank are plated for corrosion resistance.

Easy Cone Set

Cone Set; Aluminum Tip and Reversible 4″ Bull Nose Set. Fits other manufacturer’s centers with 3/4-10 threads. Drive Centers; The cup style drive center is perfect for safely driving spindles and small bowls. If you get a catch, the wood just spins on the center. Like our Live Center, the tip is adjustable and it is threaded ¾-10 for any accessories you may want to add. The Bowl Drive threads onto the cup center and provides more surface area for driving larger work. When properly seated in the wood, the ring center allows the wood to spin if you get a catch. If you think you need a little more bite, you can file a few small notches in the ring.

The M-Chuck™ Live Center Kit with sphere cups is a urethane based chucking system for completing spheres and spherical hollows created with the Perfect Sphere™ system. The system ships with the small 2" removable and replaceable urethane cups that can accommodate most size spheres 6" and smaller and allows for final turning, sanding and finishing of spheres. We will shortly have a large version which can accommodate sphere sizes from 5" to around 12" and clicks right into the existing face of your M-Chuck system. Thus instead of having to buy many chucks for multiple sizes you just need to buy one kit and purchase the urethane inserts in the size you need for the project you are working on. There will be future cups available for jam chucking and other chucking needs as we develop them.

M-Chuck™ Live Center Kit

No Other Parts are Necessary

The system comes complete with one M-Chuck™ head with 3/4 10 internal threads which are also machined to fit our FACE-OFF™ threaded collars, two 2" urethane sphere cups one Morse taper #2 for the drive side and one dual sealed ball bearing live center cup for the tailstock side. No other parts are necessary to use the system. If you have a 3/4 10 threaded live center then we also sell a standard version of the M-Chuck which is fits to 3/4 10 threaded live centers.

Simple and Quick Mounting

Mounting is simple and quick with the drive side using the included morse taper number two (MT2). Then the tail stock side slips right in with the attached MT2 live center. The primary function of the M-Chuck™ with sphere cups is to turn off the center nubs from the initial turning with the Perfect Sphere™ system. Then it can be used for all final shaping, sanding or finishing required. The compound used in the M-Chuck™ sphere cups is non-marring urethane which provides superior grip to a standard wood chuck and combine that with true running aircraft aluminum bases and you have the ultimate chucking system.
