The PRO-GRIND Sharpening System includes 5 different sharpening jigs with preset gauges. Each gauge is set for the correct angle, tool type and style of grind. The 27" Multi-Grind Mounting Bar is ideal for grinding skews, chisels, gouges and more. The 3" x 5" platform with miter slot is perfect for scraper, skews, hand chisels and hand plane blades. With the PRO-GRIND system there is no more grinding away your expensive turning tools. Pro Grind Multi-Grind Sharpening Jig with Setup Blocks

One of the more challenging angles or grinds to achieve on our turning tools is getting the grind correct on a bowl gouge or spindle gouge. We have developed the Multi-Grind Jig with setup blocks to eliminate the guess work so you can focus on making the perfect bowl gouge or spindle gouge grind every time! Using this jig with any system that has a pocket v-arm attachment (not included) will make your bowl/spindle gouge sharpening experience much smoother than ever before!

High Quality Steel

The Multi-Grind is made from high quality steel. The knob is made from brass and the threads provide a smooth rotating action when the brass knob is turned. The clamp pad is covered with a non-marring PVC material to help protect your tool while grinding. The clamp opening has a v-shape base that accepts your turning tool perfectly and won’t allow your tool to accidentally roll or shift while grinding.

Once your setup, the Multi-Grind Jig with your tool mounted makes grinding the round shape of bowl gouge very easy and very smooth when compared to free hand grinding. The natural pivoting, rolling action in provides allows you to not achieve the perfect grind, but keeps your fingers away from the wheel at the same time.

Set Up Blocks

Quick Set Up Blocks for Sharpening Wood Lathe Chisels. Use For Both Bowl Gouges And Spindle Gouges. Designed For Use With Any Wood Lathe Sharpening Jig That Uses A Gouge Holding Fixture, i.e. VariGrind 1, Varigrind 2, Sharpfast, etc. Detailed Instructions With Settings Are Included.



Although there are dozens of different bowl gouge grinds possible, there are really only 4 major shapes that most woodturners will ever use. Three are for bowl gouges and one is for a spindle gouge.

With these 4 grinds, there is almost no task you cannot accomplish

Refer to the chart included in the instructions for the grind you wish to make. Pictured here is the setup for an Ellsworth type grind. Use the #2 block and adjust the leg down to the 5th notch (45 deg). Adjust the pocket arm until the setup block makes two firm points of contact. Easy as pie! One of the keys to quick and consistent sharpening is being able to achieve the same settings each time. The projection of the gouge from the gouge holding fixture makes good use of a gauge block like the shop made one show here. You could just drill a hole in a board the correct depth (2") You get all of this with comprehensive instructions in two simple to use blocks. They make sharpening quick, easy and repeatable. Resharpening a gouge shouldn't take any longer than 1 minute when you use these set up blocks.

The Most User-Friendly and Catch-Free Angles

The angles engineered into the Quad work for most people, most of the time, in most situations. The angles Ron Brown have chosen for each tool are the most user-friendly and catch-free angles I know of. Different folks use different angles for various reasons. Ron Brown picked these because he hate catches caused by an angle that is too catchy or so blunt that you have to force the cut. These angles are not the only ones in use. They are the ones that will most likely keep you out of trouble and cause the fewest catches while still cutting effectively.

Adjustable Replacement Tool Rest Sharpening Jig

The Adjustable Replacement Tool Rest Sharpening Jig will allow you to locate all the basic sharpening positions with your bench grinder (grinder not included). The unique miter slide tool holder design allows the jig to be used more or less as a stone, which easily guides your blades, turning tools and chisels. Solid aluminum construction provides you with a smooth sliding, side to side action when sharpening. The sharpening jig works with most power or hand grinders that has or had a tool rest. It is the ideal replacement for the factory tool rest that comes with many bench grinders. The jig offers much more flexibility in terms of what you can get done than with the standard factory tool rest. The plate is offset for short chisels, such as Japanese or western butt chisels.

Make Sharpening Your Tools Easier

The Sharpening jig can be used with 6" or 8" bench grinders and on many belt sanders/grinders. It quickly and easily mounts directly to the bench in front of the grinder with a track style base and can be readily folded out of the way for freehand grinding if so desired. It can also be completely removed by loosening the large wing knob and sliding the jig from the track base. The aluminum, lightweight, easy to adjust sharpening jig is the perfect replacement or upgrade for your 6" or 8" bench grinder.

Another great feature is that the jig can be adjusted forward and backward for just the right angle. Some aftermarket and expensive tool rests don’t move and adjust in this fashion. This can be very limiting your ability to be accurate with your angles. The platform straddles wheels up to 1" wide. The Jig also now includes internal lock washer for even more stability!

The ideal fit

Most grind wheels fall right inside of the the notch in the aluminum platform. The unique ratcheting handles lock the adjustable rest solidly in position and can be moved out of the way after locking to keep from accidentally bumping them. You can easily move the tool rest from one grinder wheel to another or quickly remove it from the bench when not needed for grinding. Some assembly required. The bench top wood mounting screws are included.

Reverse it.

Sometimes you may need a little more support for smaller tools. Simply flip the platform around and you'll be able to get as tight as you need.

Mounting Track Base Add-On

If you already own one of the Tool Rest Sharpening Jigs, then you know how versatile it is. Being able to accurately hone your tools can certainly be satisfying. Sometimes though it would be nice if we could have the ability to move the sharpening jig to the other side of the bench grinder to sharpen your tools with a different grit wheel. Now, with an extra Mounting Track Base you can have a mounting track for each of your two wheels on your grinder! Once both Mounting Tracks have been installed, all you have to do is slide the Sharpening Jig into one side or the other and start sharpening! Made from the exact same extruded aluminum material as the original Mounting Track. The Mounting Track not only allows quick switch outs but it also allows you to quickly adjust the jig forward or backward depending on what type of tool you are sharpening.

Make your Tool Rest Sharpening Jig even More Versatile!

Sometimes we need just a little more to make the ideal jig system even better. This Mounting Track Base is that "little more" that makes the original Tool Rest Sharpening Jig almost indispensable for those who like to sharpen their own tools. The Mounting Track Base is the exact same Mounting Track Base that comes with the jig. This extra base gives you the opportunity to now have two Mounting Track Bases mounted to your bench grinder bench top so you can either switch back and forth from wheel to wheel. This type of setup makes your sharpening process much smoother and quicker when having to move from one wheel to the other.

Not only does the Mounting Track Base hold the Tool Rest Sharpening Jig in place, it allows for quick and easy adjustments to the jig. Loosen the large wing knob and then you will be able to move the jig back and forth as needed. This comes in very handy when setting up the jig for just the right angle. Many brands name jigs don’t have this feature and it makes it difficult to fine tune the angles when setting up the jig.

27-1/2" Long Steel V-Arm

ONEWAY Grinding Tip: If you are working with a tool that will need to be resharpened several times, leave the V-Arm clamped in place. By doing this, you can rapidly reproduce an identical bevel angle. You can also sharpen the tool before you put it away so that your tools will always be sharp wile removing only a minimal amount of material.

Large Steel Platform

Made from heavy duty steel, the large platform can be adjusting inward or outward depending on what tool your sharpening. You can adjust the angle of the platform by unlocking the pivot point with the large, easy to handle ratcheting knob. Once the correct angle is achieved, re-secure the ratcheting knob. Use the Platform for Scrapers, Skews and Parting Tools.

The Quad Setup is designed for use with 8" Diameter Bench Grinder Wheels. Correctly set the proper grinding angles for Roughing Gouges at 45 deg, Parting Tools at 30-60 deg, Skews at 21.5-43 deg and Bowl Scrapers at 8 deg.

Wolverine Skew Grinding Attachment

The Skew Jig was designed specifically for grinding Skews. It is quick and easy to use, and will give you an amazingly flat bevel. One reason that the skew leaves such an incredible finish on work pieces is due to its very thin edge which leaves naturally cleaner cuts. This creates a problem with sharpening the skew as this thin edge will easily fold over during grinding. ONEWAY's Skew Grinding Attachment minimizes this problem by allowing the skew to be mechanically held. The unique offset handle position actually reduces the hollow grind generated and leaves a stronger more predictable tool.

Problem Until now, we have been using the Wolverine Grinding Jig's Vee-Arm to grind skews. Straight from the pocket, a hollow grind can be produced at any angle you wish to achieve, or the rounded toe used by some turners. However, two problems occur using the Vee-Arm:

• The bevel of the skew should be flat, and this method does produce a hollow grind
• The cutting edge and bevel are not parallel

Solution Solving the first problem seemed impossible, to get a flatter grind you need a bigger wheel, so we set out to solve the second problem. The result was the ONEWAY Skew Grinding attachment. Very simply the jig is two pockets offset 3-1/2" to either side of center of the wheel. When the handle of the skew is placed in these pockets, the cutting edge becomes square to the wheel. But after we tried the jig something amazing happened. The bevel flattened itself out, which solves the first problem; excessive hollow grind.

How does this happen? Well, as the tool is moved side to side on the wheel, the offset position of the handle forces the tool slightly up and down the wheel. As the tool is forced up the wheel it grinds more off the back of the bevel and flattens the grind. The Skew Grinding Attachment produces a virtually flat bevel with greatly improved cutting characteristics. This fixture is a highly recommended option with our Wolverine Grinding System.

SKEW SHAPE: The skew, in order to cut effectively, should be ground with an angle of 70 degrees to 80 degrees looking from the top, and an included angle of 20 degrees to 35 degrees, depending on the wood to be cut and personal preference. The surfaces should be flat, not convex or concave. In an attempt to obtain a flat surface, some turners will grind the skew on the side of the grinding wheel, but this method is not recommended as some roundness will occur and for safety reasons.
